Industrial Maintenance Mechanic: Safety and Technical Standards

This course teaches the Brazilian Regulatory Norms (NR 6, NR 10, NR 12, NR 33, NR 35 issued by the Brazilian Ministry of Labour) and ISO 14001. It does not replace the occupational-safety regulations of your own country. This is the fourth course in the industrial maintenance track and dives into workplace safety as applied to the daily routine of a maintenance mechanic: machinery, electrical installations, confined spaces, work at height, and environmental waste management. You will understand why machine guarding exists, how to perform a correct lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedure before any intervention, and how to select, use, and maintain the personal protective equipment required by NR 6. The course also covers the electrical hazards addressed by NR 10, the confined-space precautions of NR 33, and the work-at-height requirements of NR 35, three norms that constantly intersect in industrial maintenance work. Finally, you will learn how ISO 14001 guides the responsible disposal of used oils, greases, and contaminated waste. By the end, you will have a solid foundation in safety and regulatory compliance for working responsibly on any Brazilian industrial plant floor.
