Traffic Law for Public Service Exams
This course is for Brazilian public service exams (concursos públicos) and the lessons are taught in Portuguese. The Brazilian Traffic Code, Law 9.503 of 1997, is the core subject of the exams for the Federal Highway Police (PRF) and the state traffic departments (Detran), and exam boards test the exact wording of the law, swapping the severity of an offense, a deadline, a penalty or the competent authority. This course starts from zero and explains the code with Professora Helena, always using the text in force, including the recent changes that older material gets wrong. Part one is the National Traffic System: the national and state traffic councils, the appeals boards and the powers of the PRF, road agencies, Detrans and cities, plus the definitions in Annex I. Part two is traffic rules: right of way, overtaking, speed limits, seat belts, carrying children, pedestrians and road signs. Part three is vehicles and licensing: mandatory equipment, registration, annual licensing, school transport, motorcycle couriers, license categories A to E, the provisional permit and the driving tests. Part four is offenses, penalties and administrative measures, with the points system, suspension and revocation of the license, and the administrative process from the ticket to the appeal. The last part is drunk driving and traffic crimes, including Contran Resolution 1.031 of 2026. The questions follow the exam-board style, with True or False and multiple choice, and every answer cites the deciding article.
