Ancient Egypt for Kids

Beginner

Five thousand years of Egypt for children aged 6 to 8, hosted by Lupe, a golden retriever puppy who discovers everything alongside the child. The first episode hands over a timeline rather than a fact, drawn to a real scale and shown again in every episode, so the child always knows when they are: the pyramids near the start, Cleopatra near the end, and today at the far edge. From there the course walks forward. Why anybody lived in a desert at all, and the river that fed them. The Great Pyramid, a hundred and twenty-two children tall, and the workers' town with its bakery that shows it was not built by slaves. The step pyramid that came first, the sledges dragged over wet sand, and a giant stone still lying in the quarry where it cracked. A lion carved out of one single rock, with a nose nobody can account for. A thousand little pictures nobody could read for a thousand years, and the stone that gave the answers away. Gods with the heads of a jackal, a falcon and a cat. Mummies, handled as what they are: somebody who was loved and kept with enormous care. Then four rulers — a woman who ruled as pharaoh, a boy king crowned at nine, an old man who reigned for sixty-six years and had a mountain carved into a temple, and the last pharaoh of them all, who lived closer in time to the child watching than to the pyramids she could see from her window. Every size is drawn against children at the true ratio, every monument is shown in a real photograph, and there are no exercises inside the videos and nothing to get wrong.
