Animals of Africa for Kids

Beginner

Ten African animals for children aged 6 to 8, hosted by Lupe, a golden retriever puppy who discovers everything alongside the child. The trip runs savannah, then forest, then desert, then river, and the map of Africa that opens every episode is the same map with one place lit, so the child always knows where they are before a word is spoken. Every animal is met with a real photograph and measured against the only ruler a child always has to hand: themselves. The elephant is six metres and five children long, and his trunk has not one bone in it. The giraffe is five children TALL — the comparison stands the row of children on its end, because her height is the fact the episode is teaching — and her neck holds seven pieces, the same number as a child's. The lion is the only cat in the world that lives in a family, and he is not the biggest cat: the tiger is. The zebra's stripes are as unique as a fingerprint, and her foal learns her by them. The ostrich is the biggest bird on Earth, runs faster than any other two-legged animal, lays the biggest egg of any animal, and does not bury her head in the sand — the course says out loud that this one is a story people tell. The gorilla is enormous, eats only leaves, builds a new bed every day and has fingerprints like a child's. The fennec is the smallest fox in the world and its huge ears are a way of letting heat out. The meerkat posts a lookout while the rest of the family digs. The hippo cannot swim: he walks along the river bottom. And the crocodile mother carries her newly hatched babies to the water inside her own mouth. There are no exercises inside the videos and nothing to get wrong.
